We are hiring a Junior Engineering Assistant who will be responsible for minimizing resource diversions and customer-facing impacts of new technology platform ramp ups by supporting Berlin Packaging’s Studio One Eleven engineering and design teams during their transition to a new suite of prototyping, metrology and testing technologies while assisting with administrative-level maintenance, upkeep of the new shop.
- Develop quotation-ready technical engineering databases and specification drawings of products in categories such as rigid packages, closures, dispensing systems, and medical consumables.
- Attend customer meetings, document new product performance requirements that incorporate customer needs, technical feasibilities, supply chain strategy, and regulatory requirements.
- Before and during creative development phases, assist Industrial and Graphic Designers with creative solutions to technical obstacles.
- Review internally and externally-generated part geometries and technical specifications for accuracy and applicability to customers’ and suppliers’ requirements.
- Review product development ramp-up progress, participate in supplier evaluations.
- Review first article parts and QC reports for adherence to agreed-upon specifications.
- Prepare any necessary modifications or corrections of database and drawings via inputs from Berlin Packaging Project Managers, suppliers and tool builders.

- Current enrollment in an accredited 4-year college Mechanical Engineering degree program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
- Foundational coursework in engineering principles, physics, and mathematics (Calculus exposure a plus)
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion360, or OnShape) for basic modeling and design
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Java, MATLAB) a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated ability to organize, audit, and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn and ask questions
- Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude and a sense of pride in work quality
