E-commerce is booming — but independent brands still struggle to match the seamless logistics of giants like Amazon. At Bigblue, we’re on a mission to change that.
We help brands by democratizing best-in-class operations: scaling faster while delivering a five-star customer experience.

Since 2018, we’ve built a tech-driven logistics platform powering 500+ brands — from fast-growing DTC players to global names like MUJI, Aigle, and Cabaïa. With 110+ employees across Paris, Madrid, and London, our proprietary WMS (Warehouse Management System) Atlas, and a network of 7 warehouses across Europe, we’re solving logistics challenges that others haven’t dared to tackle — making fulfillment faster, smarter, and greener.

Backed by $20+M in funding and trusted by the next generation of e-commerce leaders, we’re scaling rapidly — from 10 million orders in 2024 toward ambitious enterprise expansion. The journey ahead is bold, and we’re looking for the right partner to help us lead the way.

The Role

As an Applied Scientist, you will develop and maintain efficient and robust algorithms that significantly improve our warehouse operations.
You'll work at the intersection of research and engineering, identifying optimization opportunities, collaborating with stakeholders on operational feasibility, and shipping solutions that have immediate, visible impact on our European fulfillment network.

This is probably one of the highest-leverage job openings we have today – each percentage of performance we squeeze out of our algorithms allow us to scale even faster.

What You Will Work On
Identify optimization opportunities across our WMS algorithms
Align with stakeholders on operational feasibility and discuss tradeoffs
Develop and maintain efficient and robust algorithms that significantly improve our operations
Collect feedback, measure performance and iterate based on real-world results

  • Proficient in software engineering methods and tools (IDE, git, tests, …)
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with diverse teams
  • Solid foundations in algorithms, optimization theory, and their practical limits
  •
  • Experience in the Logistics industry
  • Published one or more research paper(s)
  • Open source contributions
  • After 6 months: You've ramped-up on our codebase, built an experimentation framework and tested several improvements to our existing algorithms
  • After 1 year: You're mentoring fellow engineers to develop our optimization capabilities
  • After 2 years: You're leading a small team focused on making our WMS optimization solutions world class
  • High volumes: Work with data from the largest tech player in the field based in Europe
  • High agency: We are a small team and you get to design, develop, ship, and actually see the result of your work on the ground
  • Open field: It's still day 1 at Bigblue and you will drive many important decisions that will shape both your job and the entire company
  • Recruiter phone screen: Get to know Bigblue and the role
  • Hiring manager phone screen: Deep dive into your experience and the position
  • Case study: Technical algorithm-focused challenge
  • Onsite interview: Past project discussion and culture fit
  • 2-3 Reference calls
