Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Integrated Project Delivery (Senior Manager, IPD) oversees multi-million-dollar design-build construction projects, primarily focused on HVAC, electrical, and energy-efficient decarbonization of buildings and infrastructure. This role is responsible for delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.  The Senior Manager, IPD will drive continuous process improvements and align with Blackstone’s Health & Safety, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion + Belonging initiatives. 

 

Overview

The Senior Manager, IPD oversees multi-million-dollar design-build construction projects, primarily focused on HVAC and energy-efficient decarbonization. It requires extensive experience managing complex design-build construction projects and working with multidisciplinary teams. It is a Toronto-based role and offers an opportunity to lead projects that contribute to sustainability efforts. 

 

This role is responsible for on-site management of large-scale, multi-year construction and retrofit projects. Such complex projects involve multiple stakeholders, including internal and external teams.

 

The Senior Manager, IPD leads, coordinates, and ensures project management best practices, proper documentation, and that departmental processes are followed, while driving customer satisfaction and internal profitability. The role requires proactive leadership and  close collaboration with the Project Management Team and Project Engineers to ensure project deliverables are met. 

 

Principal Duties

  • Proactively communicate with clients, project teams, and key stakeholders to align expectations, address issues early, and ensure the seamless delivery of project measures.
  • Manage and supervise subcontractors and on-site personnel to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
  • Oversee daily site operations for multiple project sites, including coordinating work with the client and subcontractors, scheduling, inspections, and issue resolution.
  • Working on multiple sites ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor project progress and costs, reporting any variances promptly.
  • Lead, model, and enforce Health & Safety policies in order to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Attend site meetings and provide clear updates on progress and challenges.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, including logs, reports, and change orders.
  • Lead procurement activities related to construction subcontracts and equipment purchases.
  • Address technical challenges and scope changes in collaboration with project teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management. 

 

Skills, Competencies & Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in on-site construction management.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. 
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure. 
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, especially in on-site technical challenges. 
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and Ontario regulations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resolve on-site issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Procore construction management software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project for scheduling.
  • Post-secondary education in construction management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in institutional or ICI sector projects is an asset.
