Key Responsibilities
 

• Design and develop data transformations within Snowflake using SQL, dbt, Dynamic Tables, Streams/Tasks, or similar technologies.
• Build and maintain Silver and Gold layer datasets, dimensional models, data marts, and analytical structures.
• Develop semantic views/models that provide consistent business definitions, metrics, dimensions, and relationships.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data models and transformation logic.
• Support data consumption across Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, Snowflake Cortex, Snowflake Intelligence, and other analytics/AI platforms.
• Optimize Snowflake models and transformations for performance, scalability, and cost.
• Implement data quality, governance, documentation, and business logic within curated datasets.
• Partner with business stakeholders, BI teams, architects, and data engineers to design solutions that enable self-service analytics and AI.
• Help establish best practices for data modeling, transformation, semantic layers, and Snowflake architecture.

Required Qualifications
 

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Analytics Engineering.
• Strong hands-on Snowflake and SQL experience.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, analytical data structures, and data architecture.
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation technologies.
• Experience developing semantic layers, semantic views, or business-facing data models.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and performance optimization.

• Snowflake Cortex, Cortex Analyst, or Snowflake Intelligence
• Snowflake Dynamic Tables
• Power BI, Tableau, or Sigma
• GenAI / conversational analytics
• YAML-based semantic models
• Azure cloud data platforms
• Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
• Collibra or other data governance platforms
