This role ensures the efficient, compliant, and safe functioning of laboratory activities to support local scientific research. This role acts as a key liaison between site staff, management, and cross-functional teams, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. The Capital Operations role will lead the development and execution of a multi-year, multi-site master plan for Therapeutic Discovery Sciences (TDS) laboratory infrastructure, including equipment investments and space renovations to enable future scientific needs while addressing asset obsolescence and lifecycle management.
Responsibilities of this position include:

* Respond to and manage site emergencies, incidents, and escalations, ensuring timely coordination, clear communication, and effective resolution to minimize operational disruption and risk
* Support the implementation of new technologies, systems, and processes at the site
TDS Capital Operations
* In collaboration with TDS scientific teams and Research site operations, develop and maintain a multi-year lab master plan aligned to evolving scientific platforms and “labs of the future” strategy
* Assess current-state equipment and infrastructure to identify gaps, risks, and obsolescence
* Prioritize and sequence capital investments and renovation initiatives based on portfolio evolution, scientific demand, and asset lifecycle
* Partner with scientific teams, site operations leads, facilities, engineering, and IT teams to translate research needs into integrated infrastructure roadmaps
* Establish standards for equipment lifecycle management, modernization, and technology adoption
* Drive governance, planning processes, and decision frameworks for space and equipment investments
* Ensure planned investments and renovation initiatives are prioritized and executed within approved budget constraints, balancing cost discipline with long-term strategic value
It is expected that all these objectives will be accomplished through developing strong partnerships with all stakeholders and while demonstrating the highest level of BMS’s six core values.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MS, MBA, or PhD) preferred
