Summer Students (21 Positions)

Job Summary:

Biigtigong Nishnaabeg invites community members 15 to 30 years of age, who are actively enrolled and attending school and who plan to return in the fall to apply for summer employment. Biigtigong is excited to offer various summer student positions as listed below:

• Recreation-Day camp and Youth Center (8 Positions)
• BN Maintenance (2 Positions)
• Health Center- Wellness Promotion (1 Position)
• Gchi-Waaswaaganing Visitors Attendants (2 Positions)
• Pukaskwa- Assets (2 Positions)
• BNES -Library Assistant (1 Position)
• Pukaskwa - Visitor Experience (1 Position)
• Sustainable Development (1 Position)
• Pic River Development Corporation (1 Position)
• GMS Camps (1 Position)
• Children & Family Learning Center - Junior ECE (1 Position)

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled as a student (high school, post secondary- proof of enrolment required)
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Effective and strong communications skills both written and verbal
• Basic computer skills
• Represent Biigtigong Nishnaabeg professionally
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to take initiative and direction from supervisor.
• Dependable and punctual- available to work the duration of the summer term.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily operations under the supervision of full-time staff
• Perform general office tasks- if related to position.
• Provide customer service by offering information or directing inquires to appropriate personnel.
• Support team projects by conducting research, compiling information, or preparing reports.
• Maintain cleanliness and organized workspace
• Follow all safety procedures outlined for job tasks
• Contribute to the team in a positive, energetic, friendly manner
• Ability to work in inclement weather for outdoor positions

• Written in the cover letter please include top three (3) choices for employment positions.
• Confirmation that they are returning to school in September and include school name.
• Attach copies of transcripts proving successful completion of school year
