Box is looking for a strategic events leader who can define how we show up in the market and ensure our event investments drive measurable business impact. This role is critical as we sharpen our strategy across marquee events, sponsored industry moments, and the broader event portfolio, bringing greater clarity to where we invest, why we invest, and how those programs support pipeline and brand goals. We need someone who can operate as a true strategic partner to executive leadership, bring cohesion across teams, and elevate how Box presents itself through memorable, high-impact experiences. This person will create stronger alignment between strategic events and field priorities and build the framework that guides our event strategy going forward.

  • Own and evolve Box’s strategic events vision, including marquee moments such as BoxWorks, Dreamforce, Google Next, and other high-impact national and sponsored events.
  • Develop a clear event strategy that connects Box-led and third-party events to business objectives, audience engagement, pipeline targets, and brand goals.
  • Evaluate the right mix of events for Box to sponsor, host, and scale, ensuring investments are aligned to measurable return and long-term impact.
  • Partner closely with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams including Field Marketing, Partner Marketing, Product Marketing, Brand, PR, Content, and Sales to align priorities and execution.
  • Lead the strategic planning behind large-scale customer experiences while guiding teams and agency partners responsible for production, logistics, and execution.
  • Build and refine a repeatable playbook and operating framework for how Box approaches events, ensuring consistency in brand presence and decision-making across programs.
  • Define strategic team structure, priorities, and operating models across strategic events and adjacent functions to support Box's long-term vision, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and ownership to meet key business objectives.
  • Bring executive-level communication and influence to the role, distilling ideas, driving alignment, and helping senior leaders make informed decisions about event strategy and investment.

As a leader in this role:

  • You have led large-scale customer conferences and strategic event portfolios, ideally including events in the 3,000-8,000 attendee range, and understand how to scale programs thoughtfully over time.
  • You bring both strategic vision and hands-on event leadership, with the ability to define the “why” behind event investments while also understanding what it takes to execute them successfully.
  • You have strong executive presence and are comfortable engaging senior leaders, shaping decisions, pushing back when needed, and earning a seat at the leadership table.
  • You know how to work cross-functionally and navigate complex stakeholder environments, especially across marketing, sales, product, and executive teams.
  • You have experience managing across agencies and internal teams, and you know how to get the best work from both.
  • You are creative, thoughtful, and audience-minded, with fresh ideas for how Box can show up in compelling and differentiated ways.
  • You are highly analytical about budget, impact, and return, and can translate event strategy into measurable business outcomes.
  • You thrive in fast-moving environments where scope is evolving, resources are constrained, and strong judgment is required to prioritize effectively.
