Our Pakenham branch is looking for an exceptional individual to join our service department as a Service Manager, supporting our agriculture and construction equipment operations. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on developing people, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving operational excellence. ~1 min readAs Service Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of the Service Department, supporting customers across agriculture, construction, and heavy equipment while driving efficiency, profitability, customer satisfaction, and team performance.
- Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Creates annual Service Department goals and budget in alignment with the organisation’s financial and operational objectives.
- Submits all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit.
- Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the Service Department according to their skills and knowledge.
- Review work orders for completeness and accuracy before customer billing
- Ensures all departmental tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working order.
- Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position.
To be successful you will be an individual with strong communication skills, excellent time management and an appreciation and understanding of customer’s needs.
- Sound mechanical and technical knowledge
- Experience within agriculture, construction, heavy equipment, automotive, or a related mechanical industry would be highly regarded
- Operations or service management experience would be beneficial
- Previous people leadership experience would be beneficial
- Knowledge of John Deere agriculture or construction equipment would be advantageous
- Highly motivated to lead a safe, efficient, and customer-focused Service Department
