We're currently looking for a Lead Toddler Teacher who is an effective coach, embraces change, are is eager to lead others and take pride in what they do.
- Develop classroom procedures and manage the classroom's flow of the day guiding co-teachers to achieve classroom management and quality curriculum implementation assuming a fair share of classroom responsibilities
- Mentor, train and grow teachers, modeling Brella’s teacher best practices and supporting the teacher evaluation process
- Actively participate in workshops, training, special events and Lead Teacher meetings and relay administration updates and information constructively and effectively with the team
- Collaborate and communicate respectfully with coworkers creating positive relationships and center culture
- Manage classroom materials (ie - ordering, storing and labeling materials) to ensure maintenance of a well-organized, developmentally appropriate classroom
- Implement Brella curriculum and develop daily modifications as needed per age group or emergent class interests and demonstrate that the target curriculum engagement/quality elements are being achieved
- Act as point person for family communication providing curriculum and development updates
- Model and mentor providing a safe and loving environment for children in collaboration with a team
- Meet all state teaching experience, education and additional state requirements if hired including at least 12 ECE (Required)
- 1 year of experience in a childcare setting in the U.S. serving in a Lead Teacher role or similar capacity (Required)
- 3+ years of early childhood education teaching experience (Preferred)
- Experience mentoring and coaching other teachers and AA/BA degree w/6 administration units (Preferred)
- Ability to be flexible and approach change with a positive mindset
- Understands effective communication styles to provide feedback to administration, co-teachers and parents
- Proactively seeks out resources to continually improve performance in self and others
- Experience mentoring and growing co-teachers with effective collaboration and problem solving skills
- Expertise in early learning/development and group care settings, including knowledge of current research, regulations, and best practices
- Ability to model a patient, caring and calm demeanor respectfully interacting with every child
- Experience in coaching other teachers in Reggio, RIE and Montessori methodologies
- Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, walk, bend and otherwise fully participate in activities. Standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to physically handle children between 0-6 years of age using appropriate techniques. Ability to lift children up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.
- Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
- Follow state, federal and Brellas’ guidelines regarding immunizations, employment physical, and required health and safety training and practices.
