Design Technician

Now Hiring: Design Technician Spokane Valley, WA   Responsible for creating designs and drawings prepared directly from information submitted on a company order form, client’s customer selection sheet, repeated from previous jobs, or from information developed by a design manager.   Collaborate with outside sales personnel and customers to accurately complete, safe and quality structures. Assures stability, deflection and load carries in a manner that will meet or surpass codes associated with each project. Follow quality control procedures for completeness, accuracy, and code compliance for the implementation of design standards. Confers with client, technical staff, and other Design Services personnel, and prepares design modifications as required. Develop and complete design details from original concept drawings and prepare layouts. Draws rough sketches or arranges for finished drawings or photographs to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence. Writes technical descriptions specifying material qualities and properties. Review design(s) for most efficient and profitable use of inventory, equipment, and labor as time permits.   Minimum Requirements:   Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.     Work Environment / Physical Activity:   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and sit, and occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations. The employee is regularly required to use close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to quiet conditions, such as those in a library or private office.
