Lemon Platypus is a specialist HR systems consultancy helping small and medium-sized businesses transform how they manage their people. We partner with clients to select, implement, and optimise best-in-class HR platforms, most notably HiBob, alongside Employment Hero and Rippling.
Our role is simple: remove complexity, deliver clarity, and build HR systems that actually work in the real world.
This is an entry-level role designed for someone starting their career in HR systems, technology, or operations.
As an HR Systems Graduate, you’ll work closely with experienced consultants to support real client implementations. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to how HR systems are designed, built, and rolled out across different businesses and industries.
This isn’t a purely theoretical role. You’ll be working directly inside systems, supporting live projects, and learning by doing.
At times, the work will be detailed and repetitive. That’s part of the process. Building high-quality HR systems requires precision, consistency, and patience. But alongside that, you’ll gain a deep understanding of how businesses operate and how technology supports growth.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Support configuration tasks such as setting up employee data, workflows, permissions, and structures
- Help prepare data for migration and ensure accuracy during uploads
- Assist with testing system setups to ensure everything works as expected
- Carry out elements of system build tasks across multiple client environments
- Support the creation of workflows (e.g. onboarding, approvals, time off processes)
- Maintain high attention to detail when working through configuration and setup tasks
- Create and maintain clear documentation for system setups and processes
- Support project tracking, updates, and internal notes
- Assist with producing client guides and how-to materials
- Join client calls to observe and gradually contribute over time
- Support senior consultants with preparation for workshops and training sessions
- Help ensure projects stay organised and on track
- How HR systems (like HiBob) are implemented in real businesses
- How HR processes translate into system design
- How to work with clients in a professional services environment
- How to manage data, workflows, and system configurations at scale
- Recent graduate or early-career professional (0–2 years’ experience)
- Interest in HR, technology, systems, or business operations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work through structured tasks
- Good organisational skills and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working with systems, data, and spreadsheets
- Exposure to HR, admin, or systems-based work (internships, placements, etc.)
- Interest in technology platforms or SaaS tools
- You take pride in getting the small details right
- You’re curious about how systems and businesses work
- You’re reliable and consistent, especially when handling repetitive tasks
- You’re keen to learn quickly and take on more responsibility over time
