About the Role

~2 min read

We are looking for a Payments & Wallet Product Manager who owns one of the most critical systems in the business and who gets things done. Not just shipped, actually done, with impact you can point to and learnings you can build on.

This is not a surface-level checkout optimisation role. You will be responsible for a complex, distributed wallet and payments ecosystem, spanning frontend UX, backend order orchestration, fraud systems, KYC flows, and multiple global payment provide.

You will be expected to:

- Improve conversion, approval rates, and payment success

- Reduce friction, failure, and drop-offs

- Drive wallet intelligence and personalisation

- Leverage AI, ML and Data Science to optimise every step of the payments funnel

You are ambitious and naturally curious. You bring energy to the problems you work on, hold multiple threads without dropping them, and have a clear-eyed view of what matters most at any given moment. You move fast without losing quality, and you are comfortable making calls with incomplete information because you know that waiting for certainty is its own kind of risk.

You bring solid product foundations discovery, delivery, prioritisation, stakeholder management and you own the outcomes of your work, not just the process. You are technically literate enough to have real conversations with engineers about trade-offs and system design. And you are actively exploring how AI tools can make you sharper, faster, and more effective across all of it.

This is a role with real ownership. You will not be handed a backlog to execute, you will be expected to form a point of view, make the case for it, and drive it through to outcomes. If that sounds like the job you want, read on.

If you like solving messy, high-stakes problems across UX, backend systems, and data,

this is your role.

Product Discovery & Insight

● Deeply understand player behaviour across the payments funnel: Where users drop, why payments fail, what drives conversion

● Use: Data (leveraging tools such as BigQuery, Tableu or Looker), Session replays &

heatmaps, Payment logs & provider metrics

● Continuously analyse: Approval rates, Payment latency, Provider performance, Fraud / KYC impact

You are expected to question everything. Assumptions are your enemy.

AI-Driven Payments Optimisation

This role has a strong AI and ML focus:

● Drive AI-powered routing optimisation. Select the best provider dynamically per user.

● Identify patterns in: Payment failures, Fraud signals, Behavioural drop-off

● Partner with Data/ML to:

● Move from rule-based to predictive systems

● Build models for: Purchase likelihood, Optimal top-up amounts, Payment method preference

● Implement: Smart retry logic, Real-time recovery flows, Personalised checkout/prize

redemption experiences.

This is not optional. AI is a core part of the role.

Wallet Experience & Personalisation

● Build intelligent wallet experiences: Suggested top-ups, Currency optimisation, personalised offers

● Improve: Balance visibility, Transaction history clarity, Deposit to gameplay to redeem journeys

● Work with Risk & Payments & Fraud teams to: Reduce fraud and chargebacks, optimise KYC flows (reduce friction, maintain compliance)

Delivery & Execution

• Own delivery for your product area end-to-end: from spec to launch.

• Drive and/or write clear product specs that give engineers and designers a real target without over-prescribing the solution. Use AI to draft faster and spend more time on the decisions that need your judgment.

• Manage a healthy backlog: well-prioritized, well-understood by the team, and connected to goals that matter, such as revenue, conversion and player experience.

• Identify and surface blockers early. If something is at risk, the right people know about it before it becomes a problem. Ship fast but measure everything.

Prioritisation & Multiple Workstreams

• Manage multiple workstreams in parallel without losing track of any of them. You know which plate is spinning fastest and can adjust your focus accordingly.

• Make sharp prioritization calls: weigh commercial context, user need, technical complexity and opportunity cost — and articulate the trade-off clearly.

• Be comfortable with imperfect information: make a call, move forward, and course-correct when you learn more. You do not wait for certainty.

• Adapt quickly when priorities shift — and know the difference between a priority change that makes sense and one that needs pushing back on.

Stakeholder Management

• Build effective working relationships with Engineering, Design, Data, Legal, Commercial, and CRM. You are the person these teams rely on for a clear view of what the product is doing and why.

• Communicate clearly and proactively: roadmap updates, experiment results, trade-off decisions. Stakeholders should not have to chase you for information.

• Represent the product in senior forums with confidence. You can defend your prioritisation decisions, acknowledge what you do not know, and ask clearly for what the team needs.

• Manage expectations well: say yes when it is right, push back when it is not, and escalate early when something is genuinely stuck.

• Combine quantitative data with session replay, user interviews, and qualitative research to build a full picture of user behaviour, not just a partial one.

• Use AI tools to speed up analysis workflows: summarising user feedback, identifying

patterns across data, drafting experiment briefs.

Product Foundations

• 3–6+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning and delivering product work across both discovery and delivery phases.

• Comfortable with the core PM toolkit: user research, prioritisation frameworks, backlog management, A/B testing, and writing product specs that teams can actually build from.

• Strong problem-framing skills: you can take a vague brief or a noisy data set and turn it into a clear, actionable product hypothesis.

• Experience working in cross-functional squads. You know what good collaboration with Engineering and Design looks like, and you actively make it happen.

Payments / Fintech / High-Scale Systems

• Experience in at least one: Payments, Fintech, Wallet systems, Marketplaces / high

transaction products

• Strong understanding of: Payment flows, Checkout optimisation, Conversion funnels.

Delivery & Commercial Awareness

• A proven track record of shipping: not just starting things, but getting them across the line and measuring whether they worked.

• Commercial awareness: you understand how your product work connects to business outcome (revenue, retention, conversion, engagement) and you use that awareness to prioritize, not just to report.

• Experience designing and running experiments, drawing real conclusions from the results, and feeding those learnings back into the roadmap.

AI Curiosity & Early Adoption

• Already experimenting with AI tools in your work i.e.Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Cursor, or similar, and able to talk concretely about what you have tried and what you have learned from it.

• A genuine interest in how AI is changing product management: you follow the space, think about implications, and have real opinions not just awareness.

• Comfortable with the iterative nature of AI-assisted work: willing to try things that do not immediately work, adapt quickly, and share findings with the team.

Communication & Mindset

• Clear, direct communicator written and verbal. You can simplify complexity without losing accuracy, and you are equally comfortable writing a tight one-pager or presenting to a senior audience.

• Low ego and high standards: you share credit, invite feedback, and hold your own work to a quality bar not just the work of others.

• Self-starting and autonomous: you do not wait to be told what to do. You identify what matters, form a view, and get on with it.

• Resilient under pressure and adaptable to change, you can hold your direction when things get ambiguous, and you know when to pivot versus when to hold firm.

We hire based on skills, drive, and ideas—nothing else. Your background, gender, age, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion, neurodiversity, or educational path will never be a barrier to joining us. We welcome candidates from non-traditional career journeys and value diverse perspectives that challenge conventional thinking.

Diversity fuels our innovation, collaboration, and growth. We're committed to creating an environment where everyone can contribute their best work and thrive.
