About the Role
~1 min readBundaberg Sugar Ltd is seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Trade Assistant to support our refinery maintenance team. This role is ideal for someone with a mechanical mindset who enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment and contributing to the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment.
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and longevity of machinery through the application of best-practice lubrication techniques, while also carrying out tasks in line with refinery operations and maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist with maintenance, servicing, and repair of plant and machinery
- →Carry out lubrication tasks in line with maintenance schedules
- →Support tradespeople and operators with day-to-day maintenance activities
- →Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in a safe and operational condition
- →Monitor plant condition and report faults or potential issues
- →Maintain cleanliness of work areas, plant, and equipment
- →Complete basic administrative and maintenance records as required
- →Contribute to safe work practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- →Comply with company policies, procedures, and WHS requirements
- →Assist in maintaining food safety and product quality standards
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or industrial environment (sugar milling, refinery, or food processing advantageous)
- Basic mechanical knowledge and strong practical skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction from qualified tradespeople
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Current driver’s licence
- Forklift licence (beneficial)
