Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiology Team!


The Cardiology Advanced Practice (APP) is responsible for delivering high-quality cardiovascular care in collaboration with cardiologists and the multidisciplinary team. This role includes performing comprehensive assessments, diagnosing and managing with acute and chronic cardiac conditions, prescribing medications, and educating patients on cardiovascular health, and participates in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives. Order, interpret and act upon diagnostic studies (ECGs, echocardiograms, stress test, cardiac imaging, labs). Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies. Perform or assist with procedures as credentialed (e.g., cardioversion, stress testing, device interrogation) Manager inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic visits, or both. Coordinate care transitions, including admissions, discharge, and follow-up planning.


Key Responsibilities



Clinical Care: Conduct patient evaluation, diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions, prescribe medications, and perform procedures within scope of practice. Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, ability to manage complex patients in fast-paced environments. Proficiency with electronic medical records and commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care.

Patient Education & Counseling: Provide education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, medication, lifestyle modifications, and disease prevention. Promote cardiovascular risk reduction and adherence to treatment plans.

Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care. Communicate effectively with referring providers and primary care teams. Document clinical encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation in system and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills. Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessment, including history and physical examinations. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions (e.g., coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, valvular disease).

Quality Improvement: Contribute to clinical protocols, quality initiatives and stay current with cardiology best practices. Maintain current knowledge of cardiology best practices and emerging therapies. Adhere to institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.


Qualifications

Degree – Certificate Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Studies

Advanced Practice – Certified Registered Nurse First Assist

MT State License – NP or PA

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and must obtain ATLS and NBP within 6 months


Preferred Skills & Attributes

Preferred two years or more of advance practice provider experience in a cardiology department caring for patients of all age spectrums and developmental levels. Strong Clinical Assessment and diagnostic skills, proficiency in interpreting cardiac diagnostics, excellent communication abilities.
