The person filling this position is expected, under general supervision, to: (1) research and develop instructional materials and lesson plans; and (2) provide group and/or individual assistance to “at-risk” children and/or youth in academic and/or non-academic subjects; including the following:
- Research new materials and methods of instruction to keep curriculum current and relevant.
- Design daily lesson plans to meet core course objectives.
- Coordinate curriculum and daily activities with school personnel, as appropriate.
- Administer and grade appropriate surveys.
- Assess clients' strengths in order to build upon them.
- Prepare and distribute instructional materials for classroom use.
- Provide individual and group instruction/facilitation on the subject(s) of the course.
- Provide training in and/or utilizes techniques for resolving conflicts non-violently in group settings.
- Manage classrooms and/or small groups effectively to maximize client learning.
- Manage virtual classrooms effectively to maximize client learning.
- Document client progress on daily/weekly/monthly/semester/academic year bases.
- Participate in client progress meetings/conferences with parents and school personnel.
- Participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested.
- Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
- May coordinate client leadership activities.
- Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over time.
Requirements

- Proven three years of professional experience/specialization
- Current Undergraduate student or AS and/or equivalent experience.
