Join the CAPSLO’s team and help make a lasting impact on young children and their families. As a Behavioral Health Specialist with the Teaching Together Home Visiting (TTHV) program, you’ll play a key role in supporting the behavioral and developmental needs of children from birth to age five. This position focuses on early identification of developmental and behavioral concerns, promoting school readiness, and strengthening parenting skills. Through observation, screening, consultation, and collaboration with home visitors and families, you’ll help ensure each child receives the support they need to thrive across all areas of development—social, cognitive, language, and physical. What we are looking for in the ideal candidate: Level I: High School Diploma and two years experience in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field. Level II: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field, plus a minimum of two years of teaching experience in an early childhood education program. Teaching experience with children 0-5 preferred. Must be fluent in two or more languages, including one that supports the needs of the program and community. Valid Driver's License, auto insurance and acceptable driving record.  As a Behavioral Health Specialist you will: Follow all CAPSLO, Parents As Teachers (PAT), and program policies, procedures, and guidelines. Conduct in‑home visits and parenting education sessions using evidence‑based curriculum. Maintain accurate case files, records, and documentation in compliance with CAPSLO policies and California requirements. Complete required developmental, health, vision, and hearing screenings and meet program visit and screening benchmarks. Collaborate with behavioral Health Consultants to develop and support community‑based systems; provide follow‑up and maintain partnerships. Ensure staff and providers understand and follow behavioral health referral procedures. Plan, support, and help facilitate group connections; notify assigned families and promote parent participation. Develop and maintain resource networks and collaborate with CAPSLO programs, school districts, and community agencies to support families. Communicate regularly with parents via phone, text, and email and work cooperatively with professional staff. Participate in staff meetings, departmental meetings, reflective supervision, and complete other duties as assigned by the TTHV Project Coordinator.
