We are looking for a QA Engineer / SDET who is passionate about quality engineering, automation, and the client experiences we deliver to join our CET Mobile Onyx team. This role offers a chance to work on high-impact mobile experiences that directly influence how new clients onboard, engage, and fund their accounts, making your work highly visible and business-critical. You’ll operate at the intersection of automation, accessibility, and CI/CD quality, shaping how the team delivers reliable releases at scale. It’s an opportunity to contribute to modern mobile architecture and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with product and engineering leaders. Most importantly, you’ll have strong ownership and the ability to drive meaningful quality improvements in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test coverage for mobile applications across iOS and Android. • Drive quality throughout the release lifecycle by integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, improving test reliability, and helping the team deliver stable releases at scale. • Partner closely with product managers, developers, and engineering leaders to define test strategy, identify quality risks early, and ensure accessibility and functional requirements are validated. • Lead continuous improvement efforts by analyzing defects and test gaps, recommending process and tooling enhancements, and promoting best practices in mobile quality engineering and automation.
Required Qualifications
• Strong proficiency with Appium for mobile test automation • Strong proficiency of Cucumber test automation framework • Hands-on coding in Java or other object-oriented languages • Working knowledge of XCUI (iOS) and/or Espresso (Android) • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, Zephyr, or similar) • Agile/Scrum methodologies and ceremonies • Mobile development lifecycles (iOS/Android) • CI/CD practices (Bitrise or Github Actions) • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 3-5 years mobile application testing (iOS/Android) with 3+ years in test automation
• 1 year of Schwab technology domain experience gained as a current or recent contractor or employee
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic thinking ability • Able to explore industry trends in QE/Tools • Excellent verbal and written communication across technical and non-technical audiences • Proven ability to coordinate geographically distributed teams • Self-motivated; works effectively both independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
• AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) for test development • Performance testing tools and methodologies • Security testing and data compliance requirements • Financial services or trading platform experience • Kotlin and/or Swift programming languages • Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers
