Director of Nursing - (DON)

Sabal Palms provides trauma‑informed, individualized care delivered by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians, and behavioral health professionals. Our campus offers a peaceful, wooded setting with nature trails, a lake, pool, and recreational areas—ideal for healing and self‑reflection. 

We support adults with addictions to opioids, alcohol, benzodiazepines, stimulants, and more, as well as co‑occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and other mental health concerns. 

As the Director of Nursing, you will guide and support our clinical nursing team to ensure safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care throughout our detox and residential programs. You’ll foster a positive, growth‑oriented environment while upholding regulatory compliance and clinical best practices.

• →Provide strategic and day‑to‑day leadership for all nursing operations
• →Oversee clinical quality, safety, and performance improvement
• →Support individualized treatment planning and continuity of care
• →Collaborate with medical and behavioral health leadership
• →Mentor, support, and develop nursing staff
• →Ensure adherence to state, federal, and facility standards

You’ll operate with autonomy at the facility level while benefiting from Acadia Healthcare’s national resources:

• Corporate Nurse Executive Support for regulatory guidance and clinical best practices
• Corporate Recruiting Partnership to help you build a strong and stable nursing team

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
• Active RN license in the state required
• Minimum 3 years RN experience (6+ years preferred)
• Behavioral health nursing experience:
  • 1 year required (inpatient, outpatient, psychiatric, addiction recovery, or related)
  • 2 years preferred
• Prior DON or Nurse Manager experience preferred
• 2 years of progressive leadership or management experience required
