Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Mining Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient extraction of ore through the supervision and control of mining operation team activities such as budgeting, planning, staffing and cost control. They carry out the strategic plan of the mining operation ensuring that objectives are consistent with the overall company plan. They assist the management team in developing the overall strategy for the mine.

Schedule: Three (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Responsibilities

Finish • Lead, mentor, and develop the Maintenance Planning and Reliability team.• Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.• Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions related to equipment failures and maintenance activities.• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.• Develop and oversee short-term, weekly, and long-term maintenance plans for the fixed plant.
• Manage shutdown, turnaround, and major maintenance planning activities.• Optimize maintenance schedules to minimize production disruptions and maximize resource utilization.• Monitor schedule compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.• Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies.• Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) investigations for significant equipment failures.• Establish preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical assets.• Maintain critical equipment strategies and asset health monitoring programs.• Develop and manage maintenance planning and reliability budgets.• Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.• Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance costs while maintaining equipment performance and reliability.• Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure critical spares strategies are established and maintained.• Complete monthly reliability reports.• Facilitate the “failed asset in operation program” and hold update meetings with key stake holders.• Support the execution team with technical support as required. • Play a lead role in developing a world class fixed plant maintenance team and system.
May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.
Requirements
~2 min read• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is considered an asset.• Reliability certifications (CRL, CMRP, CRE, etc.) are considered an asset.• Minimum 10 years of progressive maintenance experience in mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, or similar industrial environments.• Minimum 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.• Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, reliability engineering, and asset management.• Experience supporting gold processing facilities or similar fixed plant operations is strongly preferred.• Experience with major shutdown and turnaround planning.
• Strong understanding of fixed plant equipment including crushers, conveyors, grinding circuits, pumps, thickeners, leaching and adsorption systems, process piping systems, and mobile and stationary mechanical equipment.• Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies and reliability methodologies.• Experience with CMMS platforms such as, Pronto, or similar systems.• Strong understanding of maintenance KPIs, asset management principles, and reliability analysis tools.• Strong leadership and team development skills.
