Purchasing Coordinator

Buzzi Unicem USA is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at the Cape Girardeau, MO Plant.

In support of our growth, we are seeking to hire an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join our manufacturing team, who will be responsible to work with both operations and maintenance to assure production and quality goals are achieved without interruption for lack of materials or services.

The incumbent will assure the supply of adequate spare parts inventory, while monitoring spare parts inventory dollar levels.  This candidate must also require that the storeroom keep adequate records for reordering of supplies for inventory.

The Purchasing Coordinator will prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities include:

• →Supervise Storeroom Supervisor.
• →Ensure safety of Storeroom by monitoring S.L.A.M. job assessments, area inspections, pre-shift equipment inspections. Also responsible for Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’S), and Loss Prevention Observations (LPO’s).
• →Monitor Cycle inventory counting.
• →Purchase goods, and services from ORACLE autocreate.
• →Reorder inventory items from the HITACHI reorder system (in Storeroom Supervisor’s absence).
• →Create Blanket Orders.
• →Request new stock item numbers.
• →Analyze mid-month, and month-end accruals.
• →Analyze Open P.O. report.
• →Request necessary information for setting up new suppliers.
• →Host quarterly Purchasing/Maintenance review meetings.

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred
• 3-5 years of experience
• Must be able to plan, organize, manage and evaluate purchasing activities and the budget of an organization
• Must comply with the organization's purchasing policies, procedures, standards and strategies in order to ensure process transparency, fairness, impartiality and confidentiality
• Must possess the following skills in:  negotiation, persuasion, supervision, supplier contact, active listening, learning, critical thinking and ethical behavior
• Must have strong PC skills
• Experience in ORACLE procurement preferred
• Must posses experience in purchasing and inventory management
• Must possess general knowledge of accounting as it relates to procurement, and inventory control
• Must have the ability to complete projects on time, and achieve on time deliveries while maintaining the lowest possible costs
• Must have strong communications skills to maintain a professional working rapport with suppliers as well as internal customers.
