The Global Payrol Specialist (Payroll Practitioner II) is responsible for independently processing and managing payroll activities across multiple international jurisdictions, including the Philippines, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, El Salvador, and other global locations. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with country-specific labor laws, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and reporting obligations.

 

The position serves as a key resource for global payroll operations by resolving complex payroll issues, supporting audits and reconciliations, partnering with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers, and identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and compliance. The Payroll Practitioner II is expected to perform with a high degree of accuracy, accountability, and independence while supporting a global workforce across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Independently process payroll for employees across multiple countries, including the Philippines, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, El Salvador, and other supported global jurisdictions.
  • Ensure payroll activities comply with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and government reporting obligations for each supported country.
  • Review, validate, and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to payroll processing.
  • Administer and monitor statutory deductions, contributions, and filings, including but not limited to BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and other country-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and variance analyses to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll reports and supporting documentation for management, audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external payroll providers and partners to address payroll processing issues, discrepancies, and compliance concerns.
  • Research, investigate, and resolve complex payroll inquiries from employees, leaders, and internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, and business leaders to ensure payroll compliance and process effectiveness.
  • Monitor changes in payroll legislation, tax regulations, and statutory requirements across supported countries and recommend necessary process updates.
  • Support payroll-related projects, system implementations, process improvements, and operational initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency, accuracy, controls, and employee experience.
  • Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multiple payroll deadlines across various countries and time zones while ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery.
  • Assist team members and support additional payroll responsibilities, special projects, and assignments as needed.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of three to five years of payroll experience, including experience processing payroll in the Philippines, Trinidad and Tobago,  El Salvador and South Africa.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing multi-country payroll operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine, Trinidad and Tobago, El Salvador and South Africa payroll regulations, labor laws, tax requirements, and statutory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of global payroll practices, country-specific payroll regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with payroll systems, payroll vendors, and payroll reporting tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting functions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and support payroll activities across various time zones.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, leaders, vendors, and external partners.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive payroll and employee information.
