About the Role

Engage people who have substance misuse problems and provide them with advice, support and recovery focused structured clinical interventions to support their recovery and primary health care needs.
- Carry out triages, comprehensive service user assessments and develop individual recovery plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing substance use, re/integrating into the community when required.
- To ensure we are providing excellent customer service to people who contact us and ensure everyone work in the ethos of “no wrong door” and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Ensure the timely and accurate collection, recording and reporting of specified data.
- To be creative and innovative so that the post best meets the needs of the service user, promoting access into treatment, and continued engagement with underrepresented communities.
- Work with your team and Designated Safeguarding Lead (if not your role) to ensure that the practices within the service enable identification of service users, children and families who are at risk. Ensure you are competent in the delivery of interventions that reduce risk to service users.
- Ensure that all aspects of confidentiality are adhered to and that consent to share information is a key element to building trusting therapeutic alliances.
- To support the smooth running of the service, by contributing to tasks such as reception, duty cover, and clinical duties on an ad hoc basis.

To assist and carry out appropriate screening processes including DBST, urine and saliva tests, after completion of appropriate training or demonstration of relevant experience.
- To carry out key harm reduction strategies such as running of the Needle Exchange and distribution of Naloxone, after completion of appropriate training or demonstration of relevant experience.
- Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
- Experience of working with substance misuse service and excellent knowledge of Harm Reduction principles
- Knowledge and experience of delivering services which evidence high performance and quality standards
- Accomplished written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of personal IT competency. The ability to accurately update and maintain records in a timely fashion and to work to deadlines for the submission of information, e.g. reports
- Experience and knowledge on the working practice of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults
- Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative, prioritising accordingly.
- Experience of positively engaging with people who use services
- Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.
- Excellent team working, communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to identify emerging themes and trends and work collaboratively with people to respond to these
- Ability to communicate complex information to individuals and groups in a way that is easily understood.
- Responsibility for your own health, safety and wellbeing as well as those around you (e.g. colleagues and service users).
- An understanding of and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion best practice with a particular focus on engagement with hard to reach and marginalised service users.
- Excellent IT skills and ability to understand the purpose of systems
