Master Electrician

 

J&A Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical is looking for a Licensed Master Electrician who brings strong technical leadership, takes pride in doing things the right way, and knows how to build trust with homeowners and team members alike. If you’re confident managing complex residential electrical work, mentoring others, and being a technical authority in the field, this role was built for you. 

 

• →Perform and oversee advanced residential electrical work, including service upgrades, panel replacements, generators, electrical control systems, wiring, lighting, and troubleshooting
• →Serve as the licensed authority for electrical work in the City of Pittsburgh, including pulling permits and ensuring code compliance
• →Inspect, diagnose, repair, and replace electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, breakers, and transformers to ensure safety and performance
• →Ensure all work complies with City of Pittsburgh codes, Pennsylvania regulations, and NEC standards
• →Provide technical guidance and mentorship to electricians and apprentices as needed
• →Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners to explain findings, solutions, and recommendations
• →Identify and recommend repairs or upgrades that improve safety, efficiency, and long-term system performance

• Active Pittsburgh City Master Electrician License (required)
• Minimum 5+ years of residential electrical experience, including leadership or oversight responsibilities
• Expert knowledge of residential electrical systems, code compliance, diagnostics, and service upgrades
• Strong customer communication skills with a professional, solution-focused approach
• Ability to lead by example, maintain high workmanship standards, and take ownership of job quality
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
