KCI is hiring an Engineer-in-Training to join our Pittsburgh, PA office. 

Responsibilities include:

  • →Assist in the development of multiple construction plans for transportation projects.  These duties will be performed under the supervision of a senior project engineer or project manager.
  • →Perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.  Assignments usually include engineering calculations, interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications, and assistance with proposal preparation.
  • →Help to coordinate work of multiple engineering disciplines, as well as performing drafting/CADD work for the project. 
  • →Develops engineering reports, quantities and Construction Cost Estimates

The ideal candidate will posses these preferred qualifications:

  • →General Knowledge and/or experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD
  • →Candidate must have good communication and technical writing skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • →Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards
  • →EIT certification Preferred

Education and/or Skills Required: • 0-2 Years of experience • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program• General knowledge of required design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit)• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.• Good communication and technical writing skills.• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred: • Previous internships or work experience in the Engineering field.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:• Valid Driver’s License • Ability to maintain required certifications.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred: • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
