About the Role

~1 min read

The Globalization Experience Team is searching for an Internationalization Software Developer responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining robust software to ensure SAS products function effectively for global users across various languages, locales, and character sets. This position is centered on assisting the integration of fundamental internationalization (I18N) frameworks such as Unicode support, locale-sensitive formatting and sorting, and externalized string management. Additionally, the role leverages Agentic and Generative AI methods to boost developer efficiency and enhance software readiness for worldwide deployment throughout its lifecycle.

  • Design, develop, and maintain software, libraries, and tooling that enable product teams to efficiently build high‑quality, global‑ready software in compliance with SAS Internationalization guidelines and standards.
  • Apply Agentic and Generative AI thoughtfully and responsibly to build AI driven internationalization solutions for AI use across product teams. Focus on developer tooling, automation, analysis, and guidance to improve quality, consistency, and scalability. Ensure correctness, explainability, and alignment with Unicode and CLDR standards.
  • Partner closely with cross‑functional stakeholders—including product development teams, product managers, project managers, support engineers, and testers—to integrate internationalization best practices early and throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internationalization testers to guide testing strategies, investigate defects, and drive engineering improvements that result in high‑quality, globally usable product deliverables.
  • Learn, Apply, and Share internationalization fundamentals and best practices across engineering and product teams through technical guidance, documentation, training, and hands‑on collaboration.
  • Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.
