We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities

- →Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy
- →Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
- →Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues
- →Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
- →Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications
- →Explain how to properly use contact lenses
- →Assist with inventory management
Requirements

- →Previous experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician etc.
- →Experience with EMR tools
- →Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
- →Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus
$18.00 - $20.00 an hour
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as, but not limited to full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, annual educational reimbursement, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
