Responsibilities
~2 min readThe OPWDD* Enrichment Program Provider assists in a camp-like experience for children and adults ages 9 and up who have challenges related to their developmental disability. The programs will include an afterschool program that is run two days a week and an alternating weekend program that is on both Saturday and Sundays. We are looking for an upbeat, enthusiastic staff members who can support ongoing activities while keeping the participants engaged and excited about the program.
- →Facilitate participant engagement during activites, ensuring that each participant engages for a minimum of 15 minutes during each scheduled session.
- →Staff assigned to transportation must arrive at pickup locations at least 15 minutes before departure, while non-transportation staff are expected to report to the work site on time to prepare for program activities.
- →Ensure all consent forms and medical/emergency information are collected and verified prior to participation.
- →Make sure that the program spaces are safe, clean and left in good repair after each activity and at the end of each day.
- →Maintain a max of 4 participants-to-1 staff member during program activities; ensuring continious supervision.
- →Conduct documented head counts at every transition point (i.e. arrivals/departures, trip segments, or activity blocks).
- →Ensure safety of all participants at all times, notifying the Program Coordinator in the event of an emergency and complete all documentation.
- →Attend all meetings and trainings as required.
- →Perform related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- →Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- →Other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Prior experience as a camp counselor, or related role is preferred.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Complete all trainings including safety protocols from the Agency prior to start.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and excitement to the participants, while also completing routine safety checks.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly.
