The Opportunity
 
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Care, Allied Health provides operational and clinical leadership for
Allied Health services at the Bridgeland Riverside Continuing Care Centre (BRCCC). The Director is accountable for quality care,
interdisciplinary team effectiveness, workforce planning, resource stewardship, program performance, and continuous quality improvement. The role provides leadership to a diverse team of Allied Health professionals and works collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders to support exceptional resident, client, and family experiences.
 
The Director of Care is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Allied Health services that support resident outcomes across a range of continuing care programs. As a key member of the BRCCC leadership team, the role will contribute to program planning, operational readiness, commissioning, and transition activities associated with the new facility opening in 2027. The position requires strong clinical leadership, a commitment to innovation and evidence informed practice, and the ability to build collaborative relationships that advance integrated, person centered care.
 
Program Summary:
Complex Mental Health is a specialized mental health continuing care and post-acute program providing comprehensive care for adults with complex behavioural, cognitive, and mental health needs, including severe and persistent mental illness, dementia, acquired brain injury, and concurrent disorders.The Allied Health portfolio at Bridgeland Riverside Continuing Care Centre provides specialized mental health services across continuing care and post-acute programs . Through an interdisciplinary team that includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants, Recreation Therapists, Recreation Therapy Aides, Social Workers, and Mental Health Therapists, the program promotes quality of life, functional abilities, psychosocial well-being, and meaningful engagement through person centered, evidence informed care.
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Current registration with professional licensing body.
 
Experience: 
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in acute care, community or post acute programs with focus on mental health, including 3 years
in a clinical operational leadership health care role.
- Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including leadership of teams of significant size, complexity and diversity.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well - both written and verbal, and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
- Commitment in building teams towards a common purpose.
- Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization.
- Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build relationships with, foundations, committees, and other partners.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of conflict resolution strategies.
- Client and Family focused, with a commitment to providing high quality services.
- Ability to continually analyze effectiveness of strategies and implement quality and process improvements.
- Demonstrates respect for culture and diversity.
- Able to demonstrate competence in the development of new programs and services to meet the needs of the population.
- Previous experience managing in a unionized environment
 
Preferred:
- PROSCI change management modules or certification. LEAN, Six Sigma, or AHS.
- AIW modules. Accreditation experience.
