A full-time position is available for a highly motivated individual to join the faculty at the Cathedral School of St. Jude. We are seeking applicants with a strong background in mathematics education and a passion for fostering academic excellence within a faith-filled learning environment. The successful candidate will provide engaging and effective math instruction for students in Grades 3–5 while supporting the mission of Catholic education.

  • Professional certification (or eligibility for certification) by the Florida Department of Education in Elementary Education or a related field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

  • Strong knowledge of elementary mathematics instruction and best practices.

  • Understanding and application of 21st-century learning strategies.

  • Deep knowledge of content standards, effective instructional practices, and assessment-driven instruction.

  • Proficiency with educational technology, including Google Workspace for Education (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.).

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

  • Commitment to creating a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment.

In addition to classroom responsibilities, the teacher is expected to:

  • Understand and support the mission and philosophy of the Cathedral School of St. Jude and promote a positive image of the school.

  • Integrate Catholic values throughout the curriculum and daily interactions with students.

  • Contribute to a harmonious school atmosphere by working cooperatively with colleagues, administrators, and families.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.

  • Respect the confidentiality of private information relating to students, colleagues, and school operations.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and punctuality.

  • Display flexibility in responding to new situations and expectations with a positive and supportive attitude.

  • Show a willingness to consider and implement suggestions for professional growth and improvement.

  • Model the Catholic values and character traits that students are expected to embody.

Candidates must complete the Diocese of St. Petersburg's application process and successfully complete a Level II background screening and all required diocesan training.
