Dental Assistant (Laurie)

We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri area! Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce a Dental Assistant position for our Laurie Clinic.

COMC is a Missouri non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years. COMC Dental is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and team-oriented Dental Assistant to join our growing team. Dental assisting experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for patient care. The Dental Assistant plays an important role in supporting providers, ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining clinical standards, and delivering an exceptional patient experience. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient care.
• Take and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and dental information.
• Expose and process dental radiographs (as permitted by certification and state regulations).
• Provide patient education regarding oral health, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
• Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols.
• Ensure operatories are stocked, organized, and ready for patient care.
• Assist with scheduling, charting, and documentation as needed.
• Support team members to ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Deliver excellent customer service while creating a positive patient experience.

Qualifications Preferred

• Previous dental assisting experience.
• Dental Assistant certification(s).
• Nitrous Oxide certification.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
• Experience with electronic dental records.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the dental profession.
