Job description
We specialize in medication-assisted treatment for opioid and narcotic addictions and dependence. We have served the needs of those suffering from addiction to heroin and pain medicine since 1983. We understand opioid dependency and help each patient design a recovery plan to meet their needs. Utilizing methadone, suboxone, and vivitrol to break the grip of withdrawal, we work to help patients build upon their strengths, resulting in a healthy mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery. Our clinical staff consists of a board-certified medical director, medical doctors, and a professional level of staff. This staff includes advanced practice registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, masters level counseling staff, certified addiction professionals, physician assistants, licensed mental health counselors, and licensed clinical social workers to assist patients on the path to recovery. With this, life becomes livable again.
Masters Level Counselor - Must have a Masters Degree in Counseling or Related Field
Identifies needs for referral to other service providers and facilitates linkage to those services; includes advocacy activities as required
Skills
1. Basic communication skills, i.e., active listening, I statements, basic conflict negotiation
2. Case management skills· Assessments and integrated summaries, also known as clinical formulations· Recognizing possible abuse/neglect of Individuals· Treatment planning, including recognizing need for referral· Referrals, including knowing how to advocate for the client, facilitate linkage, coordinate and network
3. Individual counseling· Cognitive-behavioral treatment· 12 step facilitation treatment· Motivational enhancement treatment· Supportive treatment· Problem-solving/critical thinking
4. Partner education about Medication Assisted Treatment
5. Problem-solving in couples
6. Support group facilitation knowledge
Knowledge
1.Knowledge of addictions
2. Knowledge of methadone and Suboxone, side effects, benefits, interactions
3. Knowledge of most common diagnostic groups or problem areas seen in substance dependent adults
