WHO WE ARE
BAMSI has been “bringing people and services together” since 1975. We are a trusted provider of integrated behavioral health and recovery services, serving diverse populations across Massachusetts - including individuals experiencing homelessness, living with mental illness or substance use disorders, and those from the LGBTQ+ community.

Why This Leadership Role Matters:

  • System-Wide Impact: Oversee and shape the delivery of comprehensive, integrated care across a portfolio of community-based programs, directly influencing the quality of life for thousands of individuals.
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Executive Vice President and agency leadership to drive innovation, ensure compliance, and develop new revenue streams that expand our mission.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work at the intersection of operations, finance, HR, and external partners - building the relationships that make integrated care possible.
  • Mission-Driven Growth: Join a respected organization with a 50-year history of community impact and a commitment to serving the most vulnerable populations.

What You’ll Do:
Provide strategic and operational leadership for assigned community behavioral health and recovery programs, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient service delivery.

  • Supervise and develop program leaders, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Oversee program budgets, fiscal performance, and contract compliance, while exploring new revenue streams to supplement funding.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with state agencies, community providers, regulatory authorities, and internal departments (HR, Finance, Quality, IT).
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, accreditation (CARF), and state/federal regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate agency risks, and champion a seamless system of internal collaboration across all BAMSI departments.

What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Full benefits package including generous PTO, health/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and a 403(b) with company match.
  • Strategic Autonomy: The opportunity to shape programs and influence policy at a high level, with the support of a committed executive team.
  • Meaningful Mission: Lead work that directly serves diverse and often underserved populations, advancing recovery, dignity, and community integration.

What You Bring:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Human Services, or a related field, plus at least 5 years of administrative/management/supervisory experience.
  • Preferred Expertise: Experience with budget development, diverse funding streams, grant writing, and oversight of multiple programs. Strongly prefer familiarity with state agencies, community programs, and building effective partnerships.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, people living with mental illness or SUD, the LGBTQ+ community, and the elderly.
  • Skills: Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities with professionalism and calm, and communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
