FLSA Status: Exempt Pay Grade $32,424 (Annualized)
Job Type Full-Time Work Hours Normal Work hours (193 days)
JOB ROLES:
A flexible, campus-based educator who provides classroom coverage when teachers are absent and supports campus-wide duties as assigned.
This role serves as a talent pipeline, preparing qualified candidates for future full-time teaching openings within the district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required (or actively pursuing degree).
● Eligible to enroll in a teacher certification program
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
● Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the campus.
● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
● Ability to use computers including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy
machine, and telephone.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Deliver instruction based on provided lesson plans and learning objectives, using appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse
student needs.
● Cover classrooms campus-wide when the assigned teacher is absent
● Manage student behavior and classroom routines
● Take attendance and complete required documentation
● Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and campus leadership.
● Work collaboratively with experienced teachers to strengthen instructional planning and classroom practices
● Support campus-wide duties as assigned (duty, lunch, dismissal, testing, etc.)
● Communicate with administration on coverage needs
● Attend required staff meetings and professional development
● Step into full-time teaching roles as openings arise
● Perform any other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
● Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.
● Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
● Position is in an office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
● Moderate travel is required.
