To support our continued growth, we are seeking an Associate/Principal Geotechnical Tailings Engineer to join our Perth-based Tailings team. This is a key senior role for an experienced tailings professional who wants to provide technical leadership, support project delivery, mentor others, and help grow trusted relationships with existing and new resources sector clients.
In this role, you will lead and support the delivery of Tailings Storage Facility projects, provide high level technical review and guidance, and contribute to the ongoing growth of CMW's Tailings capability. You will work closely with our wider geotechnical team and Perth leadership group, bringing strong technical judgement, practical design experience and genuine interest in developing junior engineers.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provide technical input, review and guidance on TSF design and related geotechnical projects.
- →Lead and support project delivery from pre-feasibility through to detail design phases, and providing construction and operational support.
- →Mentor and develop junior and intermediate level engineers.
- →Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal project teams.
- →Support business development through proactive client engagement, and proposals.
- →Contribute to quality, safety, and technical excellence across Tailings projects.
- Qualified Geotechnical or Civil Engineer with 12+ years' experience in a geotechnical consulting environment
- Established experience in Tailings Storage Facility design, project delivery from pre-feasibility through to construction and operations support.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Strong analytical capability and working knowledge of design tools such as Plaxis, Rocscience Slide, GeoStudio, Muk 3D, GoldSim, and HEC-RAS
- Excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, quality work.
- Collaborative, team-focused approach with the ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Full Australian working rights: permanent residency or citizenship is preferred.
