CNS Group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly capable Finance and Administration Officer for a growing logistics and transportation company in Dar es Salaam. The role is responsible for managing financial records, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, handling payroll and administrative functions, ensuring regulatory and tax compliance, and supporting the implementation and administration of Odoo ERP as the company's core business management system. The ideal candidate should possess a strong finance and administrative background, prior experience in the logistics or transportation industry, and practical knowledge of ERP platforms particularly Odoo.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Maintain accurate and up to date financial records, prepare financial reports, and support management with timely financial information to enable sound business decision making.
- →Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring all invoices, payments, and collections are processed accurately and within agreed timelines.
- →Process monthly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring all statutory deductions, employee benefits, and payroll records are managed in compliance with applicable Tanzanian labour regulations.
- →Ensure full regulatory and tax compliance including preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns in accordance with Tanzania Revenue Authority requirements and deadlines.
- →Support the implementation of Odoo ERP as the company's core business management system, working closely with management and system consultants to ensure a smooth and successful rollout.
- →Administer and manage day to day Odoo system operations including financial modules, inventory, invoicing, and reporting functions to ensure accurate and efficient business data management.
- →Establish and maintain strong financial controls, operational processes, and reporting structures to support the company's growth and operational efficiency objectives.
- →Manage general administrative functions including office management, document control, vendor correspondence, and contract administration to ensure smooth day to day business operations.
- →Support process improvement initiatives across finance and administrative functions, identifying inefficiencies and recommending practical solutions to enhance operational performance.
- →Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies as required, providing all necessary documentation and financial records to support audit and compliance processes.
- →Prepare and monitor budgets, cash flow forecasts, and expenditure reports, providing management with regular updates on financial performance against targets.
- →Perform any additional finance and administration duties as assigned by management in support of overall business operations and growth objectives.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a finance and administration role is preferred.
- Prior experience working in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry is preferred.
- Hands on experience with Odoo ERP or similar ERP platforms is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax regulations, VAT, PAYE, and statutory compliance requirements is recommended.
- Proficiency in financial record keeping, accounts payable and receivable management, payroll processing, and financial reporting is recommended.
- Ability to support ERP implementation projects and manage day to day system administration is recommended.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem solving skills with the ability to establish financial controls and reporting structures in a growing business environment is recommended.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across departments and with external stakeholders is recommended.
