Director – Brazil (Financial Services / Virtual Assets)

We are seeking experienced Directors to join our Brazil entity and support the company’s governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, operational integrity, and technology oversight in alignment with applicable Brazilian regulations and best practices for financial institutions and virtual asset service providers (VASPs).
This role will work closely with senior management and relevant stakeholders to ensure the company maintains strong governance, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance across key business functions.
Candidates should possess deep expertise in at least one of the functional areas outlined below.
- Oversee compliance programs related to AML/CFT obligations, including KYC/KYT, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity reporting to COAF.
- Ensure regulatory compliance frameworks are effective, updated, and independently managed.
- Provide guidance on regulatory expectations and interactions with regulators.
- Maintain operational independence with direct access to senior management and board-level reporting.
- Oversee enterprise risk management frameworks covering operational, liquidity, market, cybersecurity, and compliance risks.
- Review risk appetite, exposure limits, and escalation procedures.
- Ensure effective internal controls, governance standards, and business continuity planning (BCP).
- Monitor risk reporting and recommend mitigation actions to management and the board.
- Oversee operational processes related to payments, OTC operations, fiat on/off-ramp activities, settlements, and reconciliations.
- Ensure segregation of client and company funds and integrity of financial records.
- Review banking relationship management and operational resilience practices.
- Support implementation of strong financial controls and operational governance.
- Provide oversight on infrastructure resilience, cloud environments, APIs, access controls, and cybersecurity governance.
- Review incident response processes, disaster recovery planning, and system resilience measures.
- Ensure adherence to information security standards and regulatory expectations.
- Act as accountable oversight for cybersecurity-related governance matters under applicable BCB expectations.
