What We Offer

~3 min read

Collibra is the global leader in data intelligence, helping organizations find, understand, trust, and access data at scale.

You'll join the Sales Compensation team, which sits within Finance and works alongside Sales Operations and Total Rewards to design, calculate, and pay commissions for quota-carrying Collibrians across North America and EMEA. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sales Compensation  you will be the hands-on owner of sales comp operations, plan logic in Xactly, monthly close, dispute resolution, and the annual plan cycle. Because every seller sees the output of this work each month, the team lives our value of being open, direct, and kind: we explain how a number was calculated, we say when something is wrong, and we fix it in the open.

This is a hybrid role based in our Raleigh office. Our hybrid model means you’ll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.

Running the monthly commission close end to end data intake, credit validation, reconciliation against Salesforce and Finance ledgers, accrual submission, and payroll handoff, so that sellers are paid accurately and on the close calendar.
Administering incentive plan logic in our ICM platform, including quotas, rates, accelerators, SPIFFs, and overlay rules, and supporting rep data feeds from Salesforce and Workday, in order to keep the system aligned to approved plan documents.
Owning the compensation inquiry and dispute queue by tracing data from booking to payout and applying structured exception handling, so that sellers receive a documented root-cause answer within SLA.
Partnering with Accounting and FP&A on commission expense accruals, quarterly true-ups, and variance explanations, in order to support journal entries and a defensible close.
Making the function repeatable through SOPs, data maps and dictionaries, audit-ready documentation, and automation of manual workarounds, so that sales comp scales with the go-to-market organization.
  • 6+ years in an analytical role, with at least 4 years in a dedicated sales compensation function at a B2B SaaS or high-growth technology company.
  • Demonstrated ownership of monthly commission close payroll handoff, accrual submission, and variance reconciliation plus hands-on administration of an enterprise ICM platform (Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Varicent, or Spiff)
  • Experience managing a compensation inquiry and dispute queue with defined SLAs and structured exception handling.
  • Advanced Excel and equivalent Google Sheets proficiency: multi-sheet financial models, named ranges, array formulas, XLOOKUP and INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, and dynamic charts, built without hardcoded cell references.
  • Working experience with Salesforce, including opportunity objects, field mappings, report builder, and the data pipeline that feeds commission calculations.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Rigorous about accuracy: treats each payout cycle as a zero-defect process and self-audits before submission so errors don't reach sellers.
  • Able to manage several concurrent workstreams against fixed close-calendar deadlines without trading off quality.
  • Able to explain complex plan mechanics to a seller in plain English and present attainment analytics to a VP in a single well-structured slide.
  • Comfortable diagnosing ambiguous crediting scenarios from first principles and documenting a defensible conclusion.
  • Inclined to ask how a process can be made repeatable and scalable, including by applying AI and automation tools to routine comp work, rather than accepting manual workarounds.
  • Familiar with SaaS revenue metrics (ARR, ACV, TCV, bookings versus revenue recognition), quota coverage ratios, and commission accrual mechanics under ASC 340-40 and 606, or willing to learn them.
  • Within your first month, you will have working knowledge of Collibra's core incentive comp plans and mechanics, have shadowed one to two commission closes, and be managing inquiry tickets with Senior Manager oversight on non-standard cases.
  • Within your third month, you will run monthly close independently with Senior Manager spot-checks, deliver the payroll file on time, and contribute to ICM implementation testing and reconciliation including parallel-run discrepancy work, with go-live sign-off remaining a shared decision.
  • Within your sixth month, you will hold SLA compliance above 95% on all inquiries, have zero payroll correction cycles attributable to calculation errors, and have documented SOPs for the team's top ten processes.
