Join Our Team at Corserv Care as a Part Time Support Worker (Learning disabilities and autism). £13.45 per hour + enhancements and benefits.
£13.45 per hour, with guaranteed paid hours
Night enhancement: +£1.29 per hour (for hours worked 10pm–7am on shifts starting after 6pm)
Sleep‑in payment: £65.00 per night
Part Time – Day and Night Shifts Available
Part Time: Flexible hours 20 – 30 hours available across days, nights and weekends

About the Role
~2 min readPersonal Care: Provide support with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, dressing, nutrition, and mobility. Always ensure that care is delivered with dignity, respect, and sensitivity to individual needs.
Emotional Wellbeing: Offer calm, reassuring emotional support to help service users manage anxiety, stress, and other challenges. Build positive relationships that promote confidence and security.
Health Monitoring: Observe, record, and report on the health and wellbeing of service users. This includes administering medication as required, following individual care plans, and promptly communicating any concerns to senior staff or healthcare professionals.
Activity Involvement: Help plan and take part in activities tailored to each person’s interests and abilities, supporting social, physical, and cognitive engagement. Adapt activities to ensure they remain meaningful and enjoyable for all.
Advocacy & Empowerment: Champion the rights, preferences, and needs of service users. Encourage independence by supporting individuals to make informed choices about their care and daily activities.
Safety & Risk Management: Maintain a safe and secure environment by following health and safety procedures, completing risk assessments, and upholding safeguarding responsibilities.
Communication: Communicate clearly and respectfully with service users, their families, and the wider care team. Ensure all interactions are inclusive, professional, and centred on the person’s needs.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of care delivered, incidents, observations, and any changes in condition, in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and external partners to deliver holistic, person‑centred support that meets the diverse and complex needs of service users.
Qualifications & experience essential criteria:
Ability to work flexibly supporting numerous people within the setting (Respite is transient and you would be supporting different people every day).
The following qualifications and experience are desirable:
Experience in a respite care setting.
NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification or working towards.
Care Certificate
Understanding of safeguarding principles and health and safety regulations.
Basic First Aid and Medication Administration training.
Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism.
Knowledge of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) or similar approaches.
Training in Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
