Position Summary The Manager, Government & Industry Affairs (G&IA) – Meso Andean is responsible for developing and executing public policy, regulatory advocacy, and external engagement strategies across the Meso Andean region, with Mexico as the anchor market. The role supports the Director of Government & Industry Affairs – Latin America by translating regional priorities into country-level execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives and global public affairs strategy. This position works in close coordination with Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, Communications, and other cross-functional teams to anticipate risks, support policy outcomes, and strengthen the organization’s license to operate. Key Responsibilities: Strategy & Regional Alignment * Develop a GIA (political) strategy for public affairs for every major country in Meso-Andean, including but not limited to product registrations, combatting non-science-based restrictions and policies supporting manufacturing and innovation. * Play a daily, hands-on role in supporting the implementation of this strategy across the Meso Andean region. * Adapt regional policy priorities into actionable country-level advocacy plans. * Ensure alignment of Mexico and Meso Andean strategies with broader LatAm and global objectives. * Provide meaningful, local insights and political analysis to inform regional strategy development. Advocacy, Policy & Risk Management * Monitor and analyze political, regulatory, and policy developments impacting the business. * Execute advocacy strategies focused on: o Freedom to operate (FTO) and regulatory approvals o Market access and trade policy o Portfolio and pipeline support o Regulatory frameworks and compliance * Identify emerging risks and support mitigation strategies in coordination with regional leadership. * Contribute to positioning the company on key policy issues with governments and stakeholders. Stakeholder Engagement * Build and maintain relationships with: o Government officials and regulators (federal and state levels) o Industry associations and trade bodies o Grower organizations and value chain stakeholders * Support engagement with multilateral and regional organizations relevant to Meso Andean markets. * Represent the company in selected industry forums, working groups, and coalitions. * Contribute to the development of alliances that advance shared policy objectives. Cross-functional Collaboration * Partner with Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, Communications, and R&D teams to align advocacy with business priorities. * Support integration of policy considerations into commercial and operational decision-making. * Provide timely intelligence and insights to internal stakeholders. Operations, Compliance & Budget Support * Manage local G&IA resources and external consultants effectively. * Support budget tracking and ensure efficient allocation of advocacy investments. * Ensure full compliance with company policies and applicable laws, including anti-corruption standards. Key Accountabilities * Effective execution of advocacy strategies that support business continuity and growth. * Strengthened relationships with key stakeholders in Mexico and the Meso Andean region. * Timely identification and mitigation of political and regulatory risks. * Consistent alignment with Latin America G&IA priorities and governance frameworks. Qualifications & Experience Required: * 10–12 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, or external relations. * Experience in multinational companies, industry associations, or public sector roles is preferred. * Strong understanding of the Mexican political and regulatory environment; regional exposure is a plus. * Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and support advocacy initiatives. * Experience working in cross-functional and matrixed environments. * Fluency in Spanish and English required; Portuguese is a plus. * Willingness to travel (~25–30%).
