Junior Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities: Process and post accounting entries, including journals, accruals, and prepayments across Mauritius and other entities Perform bank reconciliations across multiple accounts (USD, AED, MUR) and monitor cash movements linked to trade cycles Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting Maintain general ledger integrity and supporting schedules for both entities Assist in preparation of management accounts and financial reports for internal and board-level reporting Support VAT compliance in the UAE (including VAT calculations, reconciliations, and submissions) Assist with Global Business (Mauritius) compliance requirements and statutory reporting Perform intercompany reconciliations between Mauritius (finance hub) and Dubai (trading entity) Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring alignment with trade finance drawdowns and settlement timelines Assist in tracking and reconciling trade-related transactions (supplier invoices, freight costs, insurance, and customer receipts) Ensure proper filing and audit trail of all financial and trade documentation (contracts, invoices, shipping documents) Support external audits (Mauritius and Dubai), including preparation of schedules and responding to audit queries Assist in maintaining internal controls and ensuring compliance with banking covenants and financing structures Requirements Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1–3 years’ experience in accounting or finance (exposure to trading or Logistics) Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting Exposure to VAT and multi-currency environments beneficial Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferable) and Excel Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment Good communication skills and ability to coordinate across finance, operations, and logistics teams Kindly consider your application unsuccessful should you not be contacted within 7 working days.
