Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental health and industrial hygiene programs in accordance with NASA requirements and federal regulations.
  • Conduct workplace exposure assessments and hazard evaluations involving chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
  • Develop and implement industrial hygiene monitoring strategies and sampling plans.
  • Evaluate employee exposure to hazardous substances including asbestos, lead, cadmium, beryllium, chromium VI, mercury, benzene, formaldehyde, and methylene chloride.
  • Manage Hazard Communication and Global Harmonization System (GHS) compliance programs.
  • Oversee respiratory protection, hearing conservation, indoor air quality, thermal stress, and ergonomics programs.
  • Evaluate local exhaust ventilation systems and engineering controls to reduce occupational exposures.
  • Support radiation safety, laser safety, radiofrequency safety, and optical radiation safety programs.
  • Provide technical guidance on additive manufacturing, cryogenic safety, hydrazine safety, silica exposure, and reproductive health programs.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Prepare technical reports, exposure assessments, and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Deliver environmental health training and consultation services to management and employees.

Requirements

  • Education and Certifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline
    • Minimum six (6) years of professional industrial hygiene experience
    • Industrial Hygienist certification
  • Required Experience and Competencies:
    • Experience supporting federal agencies, aerospace organizations, research facilities, or Department of Defense programs
    • Experience managing complex industrial hygiene programs involving chemical, physical, and radiological hazards
    • Experience serving as a technical lead or program manager for occupational health initiatives
    • Demonstrated experience independently conducting exposure assessments, data analysis, and technical evaluations
    • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, NASA, NIOSH, ACGIH, and federal occupational health requirements
    • Strong technical writing, communication, and analytical skills
Position Pay Range
$250,000$300,000 USD
