Under general supervision, this position provides operational and financial support within Student Financial Services (SFIN), with primary responsibility for student account support, cashiering functions, and passport acceptance services. The position processes and reviews financial transactions, maintains accurate financial records, and provides guidance to students, faculty, staff, and campus departments regarding student financial services processes.

This position serves as a Passport Acceptance Agent and is responsible for reviewing applications, accepting payments, maintaining compliance with U.S. Department of State regulations, and safeguarding sensitive and personally identifiable information. The incumbent operates with a high degree of accuracy, accountability, and customer service while applying independent judgment and established procedures to support daily financial operations. Agent must be US citizen.

Equivalent to three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience; or any combination of education and experience which has provided the knowledge and abilities as described above.

California State University, Chico, in accordance with CSU policy, may require that the successful candidate complete a background check (including a criminal records check, sexual offender registry check, and/or fingerprinting) prior to assuming this position. Failure to satisfactorily complete or pass the background check may impact the job offer or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for posted positions identified as sensitive.

Must have no federal, state, or local felony convictions. You cannot have misdemeanor convictions for crimes involving moral turpitude or breach of trust (e.g., embezzlement, identity theft, fraud, or dishonesty). You must also not be currently on probation or parole. The chosen candidate will be required to submit fingerprints through Live Scan.

This position is considered a sensitive position based on CSU guidelines. Incumbent is responsible for the safety and security of Level 1 data, sometimes also referred to as Level 1 protected data. This is confidential information that is in most cases protected by statutes, regulations, or other legal mandates.
