Available Shift - Tuesday through Saturday 4am - 12:30PM
Reporting to the Custodial Supervisor, with additional lead work direction provided from other members of the Facilities Management team, the Lead Custodian provides a clean, safe, and attractive environment for students, staff, faculty, and University guests by performing the full range of custodial work and providing lead work direction for one or more employees engaged in custodial work.
Requirements
~1 min readThis position requires the equivalent to one to two years of related custodial experience and providing on-the-job training and leadership to others. Beginning proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. Knowledge of Google Suite, computerized maintenance management system (facilities work order system), and PeopleSoft preferred. The incumbent must successfully complete a pre-placement exam and must possess and/or obtain and thereafter maintain a California Driver’s License valid for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required to maintain and operate.
What We Offer
~1 min readThis is a full time, non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period. The CSU Classification Step Range for this position is $3,596 - $5,035 per month (step 1 - step 18). Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 10 ($4,298).
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year. Sonoma State University is also a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) Employer.
