The Systems Administrator, along with a team of peers, will play a key role in managing and maintaining IT platforms, ensuring uptime, security, data availability, reliability, and performance across the State’s systems. Responsibilities include standardizing processes and procedures for Platform system operations.�The Systems Administrator will collaborate with peers, technology managers, directors, and other key stakeholders to ensure the State’s platform solutions deliver timely, secure, and cost-effective services that meet the needs of the State and its constituents.�\r\n\r\n\r\nThe successful candidate can also expect to:\r\n\r\n Monitor data center health using existing management tools, maintains systems according to requirements, and conducts system performance analysis, tuning, and storage management.\r\n Diagnose host system problems and develops and coordinates resolutions.\r\n Perform server administration tasks (i.e., user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services), researches event-log warnings and errors, and monitors resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly\r\n Manage planning, analysis, design, selection, installation, and implementation of new technologies.\r\n Evaluate and make recommendations for hardware and/or software purchases and new technologies.\r\n Act as liaison to hardware and/or software vendors, system developers, programmers, and management.\r\n Develop and implement system security guidelines.\r\n Make recommendations for system migration and upgrade directions.\r\n Train IT staff, operators, systems developers, and users on new procedures.\r\n May act as a project coordinator overseeing other technical staff and support personnel.\r\n Communicate with business owners and management and facilitates meetings.\r\n Assist in development of information technology policies, procedures, and standards.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nABOUT US\r\nDAS provides timely and cost-effective services to state agencies, state employees, municipalities, private industry, and the public. In a state agency Information Technology (IT) environment this class is accountable for performing the most complex and technical support work and/or acting as a working supervisor of Information Technology Analysts engaged in information systems development or technical support.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Seven (7) years of experience in information technology (IT) operations, programming, systems/software development or another IT-related field.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE

\r\nOne (1) year of the General Experience must have been at the full professional working level with responsibility for performing a full range of complex technical support functions in such areas as: assisting in the design, implementation and management of a major communications network; providing technical and administrative support for a wide area network (WAN) or mini-computer system; assisting in the installation and maintenance of major sub-systems or installing and maintaining other host and/or network software; participating in the design and development of system applications; serving as a project coordinator responsible for coordinating the design, development, programming and implementation of moderately complex information systems projects; performing any closely related complex technical support function.\r\n\r\n\r\nNOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of an Information Technology Analyst 2.\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED

\r\n\r\n\r\n College training in management information systems, computer science or information technology related area may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.\r\n A Master's degree in management information systems, computer science or electrical engineering may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\n Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy design, and enterprise identity services.\r\n Experience administering Windows and Linux systems, including scripting and automation.\r\n Experience managing data center infrastructure, including server hardware (HPE preferred), SAN storage (HPE preferred), networking (Cisco preferred), and disaster recovery.\r\n Experience configuring and managing virtualization platforms, particularly VMware v8 or later, including virtual desktop environments.\r\n Experience implementing and supporting enterprise systems and applications, including the use of monitoring and management tools.\r\n\r\n
