We’re looking for a bold, strategic leader to step into the role of Associate Director, Procurement and transform how we partner, procure, and deliver value across the portfolio.
You’ll lead a portfolio-wide function that enables:
- Cleaner energy solutions
- Sustainable infrastructure and services
- Stronger partnerships with SMEs, Aboriginal-owned businesses, and social enterprises
- Ethical and responsible supply chains
Your leadership will directly shape how government delivers for communities across NSW.
Responsibilities
~1 min readAs the senior procurement leader, you will:
- Establish contemporary procurement frameworks, operating models, and strategies across goods, services, and construction
- Provide trusted advice to the CFO, executives, and government stakeholders
- Lead procurement risk, compliance, and performance frameworks across a complex portfolio
- Build a high-performing procurement function through leadership, training, and innovation
- Embed sustainability, inclusion, and ethical sourcing into every decision
- Partner across NSW Government and industry to unlock value and drive best practice
We are looking for somebody who is influential, strategic, and future-focused. You will have proven senior leadership experience in complex, high-value procurement environments, as well as deep expertise in NSW Government procurement frameworks.
You will also have strong commercial acumen and a passion for delivering public value, with the ability to navigate complexity, influence senior stakeholders and lead through change. A track record of building capability and driving innovation will be key to success.
Most importantly, you’re motivated by impact and excited by the opportunity to shape procurement at scale.
Requirements

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) works to protect the state’s environment and heritage. It leads the way on climate change, driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable, and clean energy.
DCCEEW conserves and protects the state’s natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate, including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.
DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
