• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $116,981 up to $129,492 p.a. plus super
  
  

As an Energy Analyst, you will analyse and interpret a wide range of energy, program, demographic, market and other data to support evidence-based policy development and program delivery and assessment. You will develop reports, undertake statistical analysis, manage data quality processes and provide analytical insights and data visualisations that help improve program performance and inform strategic decisions.

You will work with large and complex datasets from multiple sources, while ensuring data integrity and translating technical information into meaningful recommendations for internal stakeholders, senior leaders, policy teams and external reporting.

These roles offer a unique opportunity to develop your expertise in energy markets, and the energy transformation, policy analysis and data-driven decision-making while contributing to the transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable, and clean energy.

In these roles, you will:

• Conduct quantitative and statistical analysis to support energy policy, program evaluation and operational decision-making.
• Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex energy policy, program and market challenges.
• Develop reports, dashboards, insights and recommendations that support evidence-based policy development and help to convey program results and impacts.
• Use tools like Power Query.

You are an enthusiastic and detail-oriented analyst who enjoys working with data to solve complex problems and influence meaningful outcomes. You have experience analysing large and diverse datasets, identifying trends and translating technical information into clear insights that support decision-making.

Naturally curious, you enjoy investigating issues, asking questions and uncovering the story behind the data.

Your communication skills enable you to present complex findings in a way that is accessible and relevant to both technical and non-technical audiences. You are motivated by continuous learning, stay current with emerging analytical tools and techniques, and are excited by the opportunity to contribute to energy policy and programs that support a more sustainable energy future.

• Understanding of local or international energy markets.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new analysis and modelling techniques as required.
• Experience with the following data analytics tools will be highly regarded: Python, R, SQL.
• Experience with data analysis techniques including statistical analysis and use of programming
• languages (e.g. DAX, R, Python)
• Experience with data management and visualisation software (e.g. MS Excel, PowerPivot, PowerBI, ArcGIS)
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new analysis and modelling techniques as required.
  
  

• Qualifications or relevant experience in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, information management, finance, economics, or another relevant discipline.
