The Manager Water Strategy & Projects leads and coordinates delivery of priority projects that drive delivery of water management outcomes across NSW. This includes leading delivery of reform projects that support effective delivery of water management outcomes, as well as outcomes-focused monitoring, evaluation, and demonstration of performance against priorities identified in NSW water strategies and identifying and responding strategically to emerging risks and issues in the water sector. The role collaborates extensively with other units within the Water Group and other government agencies to deliver outcomes.

  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic policy, reform and implementation programs that support government priorities and effective water management outcomes.
  • Drive strategy implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting to demonstrate outcomes, manage risks, identify priorities and secure resources for future delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across government, the water sector and the community, leading collaboration and consultation to deliver practical, best-practice reforms.
  • Prepare and oversee high-quality briefings, business cases, reports and governance processes that support informed decision-making and withstand external scrutiny.
  • Delivering water management outcomes in a complex and often contested environment with diverse stakeholder interests, competing priorities and tight timeframes.
  • Exercising sound judgement and adapting to changing priorities, emerging risks and differing perspectives to drive effective outcomes.
  • Establishing robust performance, reporting and risk management frameworks that support long-term strategy delivery and demonstrate value and impact.
