We have an exciting new opportunity for a Policy & Programs Officer within our Policy, Programs and Finance Division at the NSW Environment Authority.   

The role supports the development and implementation of environmental policies, programs and projects, including conducting research and analysis, preparing recommendations for the development of policies and strategies, and implementing innovative solutions.

You are an experienced policy professional with strong research, analytical, and written communication skills. You have experience supporting the development and implementation of policy, programs, or legislative reforms and can analyse complex issues to develop practical, evidence-based solutions.

You are also highly organised, collaborative, and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

The ideal candidate will also bring demonstrated experience in the following areas:   

• Data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret information to inform evidence-based policy advice
• Analytical skills and the ability to translate complex issues into clear, high-quality policy advice
• Preparing policies, tools and guidance to facilitate environmental regulation across NSW.
• Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly for a variety of audiences.

• Experience in program and project design, implementation and evaluation.
• Understanding of the machinery of Government and the policy process.
