We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join the NSW EPA. The role will work within Regulatory Practice, using expertise and collaborative partnerships to drive the best environmental and human health outcomes for NSW. Activities will involve collaborating with relevant stakeholders within, and outside, the EPA. The role includes researching and advising on best practice regulation, drafting operational policy and guidance and preparing correspondence, briefings and presentations.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to and manage projects, including cross-agency coordination
  • Conduct research and review materials to provide analysis, ideas and draft solutions
  • Provide high-level administrative and coordination support, including managing program workflows, record keeping, agenda preparation and minute drafting
  • Prepare briefings, correspondence and advice on a range of issues

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience delivering projects or programs within a government or community focused setting.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationship across teams and with community stakeholders
  • Sound judgement, initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic operations environment

 

This role sits within the EPA’s Regulatory Practice and Services Division, which provides scientific and technical expertise, along with regulatory strategy, planning, and reporting to support effective environmental regulation, as well as incident and emergency response.
