• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 + employer's contribution to superannuation

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage. 

As the Project Officer, you will be responsible for the assessment of conservation values of land for potential addition to the national park estate. This amongst other tasks will involve desktop and field assessment of land, including preparation of assessment reports and briefs, spatial (GIS) analysis, diverse project management in a dynamic fast-paced work environment, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans.

As a Project Officer you are adept at managing competing priorities and working collaboratively with inter-connected teams. Ideally, you have been involved in assessing conservation of values of land and exposure to high-volume work within a large complex organisation or similar. Your technical skills will need to include use and application of geographical information systems (GIS) and in assessing conservation values of land at both a desktop level and in the field. You will have a willingness to travel within all of NSW as the role dictates and hold a current driver’s licence.

You will possess strong critical thinking and communication skills which allow you to identify risks and make good decisions. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to work with stakeholders to achieve program and project outcomes whilst exercising sound judgement and discretion.

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management
